HOT OFF THE PRESS: The Stig Revealed

Some say she has a reputation for finding needles in haystacks and eats other recruiters for breakfast... All we know is, she's called the Stig!

Is it Quality or Quantity?

For the second time this week we have come up against another recruitment company who have presented the CV of an individual to a prospective employer, without the candidate even being aware or giving their permission to do so.

In our opinion this is not only a bad reflection on the way the recruitment agency works, but also gives a disadvantage to the candidate who is unaware of the jobs they’re being put forward for.

Tips to avoid these pitfalls:

  • If an agency is in receipt of your CV, always ask to see the Job Description and the employing company's name of any role that you’re being approached for. PLEASE NOTE, on rare occasion’s company names cannot be disclosed, but you should always be allowed the opportunity to see a Job Description.
  • If they don’t take time to get to know you, how can they present you in the best possible light.
  • Ask colleagues or friends for recommendations of agencies and the experiences they may have had in using them.
  • Be careful who you send your CV over to. Your CV contains your personal information, and sending such a document over to a company without first receiving your consent could be a breach of Data Protection.

Its these sorts of recruitment companies who give our Industry a bad name and Executive Travel Recruitment companies like ours who take the time to get to know our candidates, carefully vetting them and sending them over to our clients with a full profile of their best achievements and aspirations. It’s a shame that there are a minority number of travel recruitment companies that let our industry down.

Let Us Reward You!

As recruiters, we obviously know a lot of people within the Travel Industry. Don't get us wrong, Headhunting and sourcing excellent candidates is part of our job, but there is always that hidden gem.

Although we have built the majority of our connections through headhunting, we're beginning to recognise an increase in recommendations through some of our previously sourced and placed candidates. Wait, here’s the shocker... Excellent candidates also know other excellent candidates!

Take a moment to think about this properly - When looking to make a spend, whether that be for anything from purchasing a new car to arranging insurance, you would always trust your personal recommendations over an advert. We understand that if we place someone through a recommendation this is benefitting our business, which is why we offer a highly generous reward scheme.

Nothing makes us happier than being able to reward individuals for their successfully recommendation with us infact, we've recently rewarded an individual with £500 worth of Marks and Spencer’s Vouchers, so we're true to our word.

If you believe you may know someone who would be perfect for one of the roles that we're recruiting for then send them our way - with their permission of course! Why not help your connections find bigger and better jobs and earn a treat for yourself out of it - You know it makes sense!

Have you heard of Jayne Peirce Recruitment Solutions?

We like to think that we're different from your stereo-typical travel recruitment agency, offering a unique and personal service to both our clients and candidates. However, instead of us telling you how we work, we thought we would let our clients and candidates speak for us.

Here is what a few people say about the exclusive service we offer:

“We were recruiting heavily and had loads more positions open than I thought Jayne Peirce would be able to fill. I knew Jayne and had confidence that the travel marketplace was one she knew really well. We gave the business an exclusive brief on a short term basis to test them out and they exceeded all expectations. The thing that impressed me most was that they were so proactive in actively headhunting candidates for us, so many agencies just rely on their databases but these guys really worked for their money. They will be my first call next time I'm recruiting.
CEO – Online Travel Media

“I cannot recommend Jayne Peirce Recruitment Solutions highly enough. They are a professional company who strive on getting the best for all parties. They are friendly, attentive and most importantly offer great advice and support. I would not hesitate to recommend them to a colleague or use their services again; they have completely changed my view on recruitment agencies.”
